The Hannover Messe will be cancelled in 2020 due to the Covid 19 pandemic. The cancellation is regrettable, but it is the only right decision, emphasises VDMA General Manager Thilo Brodtmann.
The consequences of the corona pandemic and a related prohibition order by the Hannover Region are the reason why, for the first time in its 73-year history, the Hannover Messe 2020 cannot take place. Also the second date in July planned by the fair management had to be cancelled.
Thilo Brodtmann, General Manager of the VDMA, says: "The cancellation of the Hanover Fair 2020 is a regrettable decision, but it is the only right one. The mechanical engineering industry must now concentrate on cushioning the consequences of the pandemic in its own operations in order to be able to get back on track afterwards. In April 2021, the mechanical engineering companies will be back at full speed in Hanover" Next year, the Hanover Fair will be held from 12 to 16 April.
